Today's Memories front cover

'Today's Memories' is the third studio album from Anglo-Argentine 4 piece The Draytones, a psychedelic/garage rock group formed in London in 2006.
Produced by Stan Kybert and recorded in the legendary Sawmills Studio in Cornwall.
The album is a celebration of all the band have achieved since their last release; playing festivals and major support slots whilst touring Europe, UK and Argentina three times, including their now famous journey as the first Anglo-Argentine group to tour The Falkland Islands.
Today's Memories' sees these experiences gained on the road of musical life voiced with playful attitude and considered words. From the opening electric riff of 'This Will Always Hurt' [Single] to the swirling psychedelia of 'Lemon Trees', there is classic pop appeal for all.
Staying true to their achievements and musical roots, you can practically hear the 8mm projector whirling.Today's Memories is a 6 tracks EP self released through the band's record label FOREVER ON RECORDS on the 25 of May 2012 on cd format and digital.

“This Will Always Hurt” is certainly the perfect overture to the charming an eclectic 6 tracks EP called “Today’s Memories” that is coming out on the 25th of May 2012.
Its electric riff drama sets the perfect pace of what is to come and now The Draytones is handing this as a single, accompanied by “You Are My Hope” that counterpoints the first track bringing us a peaceful and innocent breeze with a hint of south American bolero made in UK that splits sharply on the sides of your speakers to deliver you the good practice.
These two tracks have already travelled the world in their tours and now they are available for their download to enjoy at home.
Recorded in Cornwall in 2009 at the legendary Sawmills studios, and produced, mixed and haunted by Stan Kybert.

Released on the 25th March 2012 through self label FOREVER ON RECORDS, only digital format.

Up In My Head album Front cover

Compared to “Forever On”, “Up In My Head” is more concerned with the rockier side of the group’s sound, but whether slow, fast, loud, quiet, all these songs are overflowing with ideas. Album opener and 2nd single “Turn It Down” is as strong an opening track as “Keep Loving Me” & grabs your attention straight away. Throughout the record the group are never afraid to bring in more instruments - “After All” features some Yardbirds-like harmonica. “Summer’s Arrived” has a keyboard driven melody, & shows once again that this group have no fear of slowing things down when they want to. “On The Way” is a real understated delight - cool jazz vibe, & some simple, unpretentious & optimistic lyrics. Tracks like “Heart Shaped Line” (check the searing slide guitar), “As High As I Can.”, “Don’t Talk To Me” & “I Have To Go” maintain the rock quotient. “Throwing Stones” is a great example of so many things the Draytones do well - from a reflective piano intro we move to an unexpected burst of pure psych guitar, before the cool string arrangements of “Flowers On The Bridge” provides a soothing acoustic coda to a generally harder set.
Up In My Head was released on April 14th 2008 and is preceded by the single… Turn It Down released March 31st

Forever on album front cover

“Forever On” opened with a definitive Draytones track, the exuberantly confident “Keep Loving Me” - vintage beat group harmonies evoke the glory days of the Cryin Shames & the Knickerbockers’ “Lies”, and throwing in some of the most searing backwards guitar since “Revolver” too. “Out of this World” is a Muswell Hillbilly-like reflection on life’s oddities, & one of several tracks to display some of Gabriel’s jazz licks. Tracks like “Time”, “4 Years” & “Not Alone” show again how there’s more to the group than just rocking out - its worth listening closer to appreciate the range of textures & harmonies, delicate string flourishes (as at the end of “Time”). The set closes with “Trafalgar Square”, a beautifully woozy jazzy evocation of a hot day in the city, “waiting for the 24 bus” - you can almost feel the trampled free newspaper beneath your feet & smell the hot dog stand. All in all, a brave & positive first set & well-received all around.

Forever On was released in 26th of May 2007

Keep loving Me was the debut first single of the band through 1965 Records, Columbia Records.
